Elastic Locking Gas Spring
Elastic Locking Gas Spring, also known as an elastic locking gas strut or elastic locking gas lift, is a specialized type of locking gas spring that combines the functions of a traditional gas spring with an internal mechanism for automatically locking in position. This locking mechanism allows the lockable gas spring to securely hold a specific position without the need for continuous external force.
When the elastic locking gas spring is extended or compressed to a predetermined point, the internal locking mechanism engages, keeping the locking gas strut in place. To adjust the position, a deliberate force needs to be applied to release the locking mechanism, allowing the locking gas strut to be moved to a new position.
The locking function is made possible by a special piston / valve system which creates a leak-proof separation between the two pressure chambers in the gas spring.
