Bonnet Gas Strut
Bonnet gas struts are components of a vehicle’s hood or bonnet that assist in opening and closing it smoothly and safely. They consist of a gas-filled cylinder with a piston inside that creates resistance when the hood is opened, and provides support when it is closed.
When you lift the hood of your car, the bonnet gas struts compress and store energy, which helps keep the hood in the open position. When you close the hood, the energy is released and the struts expand, gently lowering the hood and preventing it from slamming shut.
Over time, bonnet gas struts can become worn or damaged, resulting in a weakened or failed lifting mechanism. If this occurs, it’s important to replace them promptly to ensure safe and efficient operation of your vehicle’s hood.
