Voor gasveren is kracht nodig om de gasveer in te drukken, maar voor gastrekveren is kracht nodig om deze uit te schuiven.<\/p>\n<p>Stikstof zit ingesloten in de gasvering. Omdat stikstof bij gasvering wordt samengeperst, zorgt dit gas voor het elastische effect. Op deze pagina wordt uitgelegd hoe gasveren werken. Naarmate de gasveer intrekt, neemt de druk van de stikstof toe naarmate de stang steeds meer volume inneemt. Bij gastrekveren wordt stikstofgas gebruikt om de spanning te cre\u00ebren. Hoe hoger de stikstofdruk, hoe groter de uitgeoefende trekkracht. Dit betekent dat de tractie langzaam afneemt. Meestal merk je dit het eerst in de winter als het kouder is. Gastrekveren verliezen 3,4% van hun kracht voor elke 10\u00b0C stijging.
